This simple yet effective painted handprint will make the purrrfect card for someone roarsome!
You will need:
- A sponge paint brush
- Orange and yellow paints
- Orange, yellow and brown felt tips
- A blank card or piece of A4 card folded in half
Ideas:
- Make a pale orange colour for the lion's face, by mixing together some orange and yellow paints.
- Paint a light layer of your paint onto your hand using your sponge paint brush. Dab the paint on and make sure that it isn't too thick so that you prevent your hand from slipping when you make the print.
- Once your hand and fingers are covered, press your hand down onto your card.
- Lift your hand to reveal your handprint.
- The finger tips will form part of your lion's mane.
- Once your handprint is dry, fill out the lion's main around the handprint by drawing lots of lines with your yellow, orange and brown felt tip pens.
- Alternatively, you can use a paint brush to paint the mane.
- Use your brown felt tip or a black felt tip to draw a face onto your lion. You could use googly eyes.
